Ah, nothing screams louder than a girl with a magic card that lets a shopaholic girl bring things home from the store!
I get quite a chuckle out of that saying - magic card! If you like the ol' famous (or infamous) "chick flicks" then you might know one of my favorite movies in that genre is Confessions of a Shopaholic!
It's really everything a girl loves, like the feeling you get when you swipe your card through the machine, and VIOLA, the wonderful items you've picked out from the store belong to you! And the great thing is taking your memory back to your childhood when you really believed in silly things like; credit cards are FANTASTIC because you get lots of nice things, and you don't even need money!
Then, dun-da-dun-dun, you get the bill, and it kinda hits you upside the head like a brick, saying, YOU MUST PAY MONEY for those items you so cherished at the store! If you want to keep them, and keep that magic card, that doesn't seem to have that magical touch you once knew, then you must pay the credit card bill!. Awwww!
One of my other favorite lines in the movie, after she realizes she's overdue on paying them, she lays on the floor, with the look of disbelief while reading the statement demanding money, "They used to call me a valued customer, and now they send me hate mail."
Oh, that is funny, but not so funny at the same time! Well, that was me the day I went shopping for make up, and whatever else caught my eye that screamed my name, I saw these amazingly comfortable heels that, if could talk, would have been screaming "buy me, buy me!" Well, I tried them on, and I was hooked! Those shoes were coming home with ME!
I mean, nothing should come between a girl and her shopping! It's just wrong!
:)
I was so happy with my purchase that I put my old shoes in the box, and wore the new shoes right then! After all I had that precious receipt that I had paid for the shoes, so it was ok to do that! Plus, the store LOVES to see you wearing their items, as it's free advertising for them! What business doesn't jump at free advertising! I certainly didn't mind!
When I arrived home, so happy with my shoes, I quickly grabbed up my camera and got a few snaps of my shoes on my feet! I uploaded them so my friends could see them, and I got many replies from them! One I liked, they said, those shoes look like the witch's shoes from The Wizard of Oz! While that was funny as well, because I loved the buckle, I also am a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz! What is even better, the witch is my favorite character from the movie! So of course I didn't mind, nor did I take it as a derogitory remark!
These black suede shoes, or boots, some have called them, made me happy, just like the girl who bought the green scarf in the movie. Her green scarf, not only brought her lie after lie, deception that ended with love and renewed faith in the "magic cards" it also brought her the love she was missing, and filling the void of love in her life, which then filled, and eased her need to shop with her "magic card," as well as paying off all the bills this mysterious magic had brought her, or shall I say bought her!
This leads one to wonder, what do we really love and want in life. Things or the need to be loved.
I truly believe, that love is something no amount of money can buy, but it can detour it away, or bring it into your life.
Provided that it is done correctly, and with passion as beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
Ladies, or Gents, please take time to ponder, will the things you buy, bring you temporary happiness or love you need in order to survive.
