ME - CASA - GIRL- LOVES - MOTHER NATURE’S BEAUTY
I have to say, Googles program Picasa, Pablo would be amazingly proud to have his name so closely relative to the picture program Picasa! Since the day I got my Sony digital camera, and found it on the disk, I’ve had a running love for the program. While it does some editing and such, it’s not quite to the extent of other graphic programs, it still delivers! It makes amazingly awesome picture collages! So much, that I have used them to print off picture collages to send to friends so they have a little bit of everything, without a huge lengthy process of having individual photos.
Don’t get me wrong, I do love Walgreens photo services, they have great deals! I’ve found no other, (and please let me know if there’s a better oneJ) photo developer with the great regular everyday prices that can’t compare to the deals they have. Such as 50 regular prints for $5.00! Now that’s a great deal, .10 a picture! So what I tend to do is save up my photos and upload them all at once to their site, keeping them in folders, is so easy it’s self explanatory when you get there. Then you can go in and further edit and/or change the photos, adding frames and other graphic effects, and for a mere $5.00, get 50 prints you are incredibly happy with! I usually upload a few extra’s because just in case a couple don’t turn out to be exactly what I want, they don’t make you purchase them, but then you can exclude them and you’ve still got your 50 for 5 deal! LOVE IT!
Most likely will never go to another place. And no, I’m not someone who works for them and is just trying to plug their store with advertising, I’m just a girl ok (as my blog title says) that loves photography, the subjects of photography and of course editing as I mention in previous blogs! I’m that down to earth person who, in my own way, like everyone has a unique side! While one day you’ll find me out digging in the dirt, learning that I’m not allergic to the feared poison ivy leaves, to getting many insect bites, from chiggers burrowing in my skin to mosquitoes, right down to those mean ol’ poison brown recluse spiders! OUCH, those babies bite hard! People have gotten very sick, lost a limb from them, and some people have actually died. I don’t know what it is about me and nature that seem to get along from scratch!
Yep, I’ve been bitten several times by those mean little buggers HA, but I just itch like crazy where it has shot it’s venom in my leg, and everyday I peel away the edging from where it’s bitten me. Maybe I peel off that part so much it takes the poison out, I really don’t know. I’m not that educated on spider bites. Other than actually getting bitten by one. Anyway, back to the point of me living in harmony with nature and taking photos of things other people might not find such as an appealing as I do. I tend to get happy over a dead tree stump or even a leaf. I once laid on a railroad track ::GASP:: just to wait for the sun to hit a perfect place for a photo I wanted to superimpose an Angel over to appear as if the Angel is holding the sunlight by threads, lighting the way home. I took the photo in hopes that it would make a pretty greeting card, or maybe lithograph.
I live in the country, and often take the back roads home, because they hold so much beautiful scenery that the highway lets pass by. So I will see plenty of rich farm land, farmers grow cotton, to corn, to just about anything you buy in the store. Being in the beautiful state of North Carolina, you would also know it’s widely known as a tobacco state, although they do not allow smoking in clubs or bar venues. But there’s other lots of revenue that comes from the state such as I mentioned cotton, and one thing southern people love is collard greens! People in the south can get quite creative with them, and make many dishes and give their families another good green vegetable in their diets. Their children learn to eat healthier and have a wider arrange of healthy foods that some other places just don’t offer! Like where in New York’s Manhattan island are you going to find a garden that sells all these extra veggies out of the norm? Sure they have them in grocery stores and maybe even on roof tops you might find a garden or so, but let me know if they have corn with their tall stalks or collard greens growing up there! I’d surely like to know myself!
Still if you’re in any big city, you buy healthy foods for your family, but think of all the preservatives that go into those cans of food or pre packaged foods that don’t go into something fresh from a garden. Really gardens take a bit more attention than people think.
You might not like those little critters that feed on their leaves, but really, they are necessary to keep the growth of many foods and plants it takes for our world to survive! DID YOU KNOW, that us people who are in love with the almighty chocolate MUST FIGHT to preserve the rain forest, because THAT IS WHERE CHOCOLATE comes from? Please research it on your own and see that I am right! Challenge me on it! I heard once that some people don’t eat the colored M&M’s because they have unnatural food coloring, and the brown ones don’t, because chocolate is already brown! Well, it is if you’ve ever seen a true chocolate coca bean! I hope you take time to take a look at my photographs and see some of the beautiful back roads of North Carolina, including it’s farm land, road side beauty, and even in the little town of New Bern’s downtown street photographs. I have included in the collage of pictures, a very beautiful church, and just parts that I found quite… shall I say “art-ful” maybe to my eye, maybe to yours, I guess it’s one of those things everyone sees differently, like the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
And just as we all know, our health is important to ensure a good bit of greenery in our diets, and you’d be surprised at how much you like that you’ve not tasted.
For instance. I am NOT a fan of Spinach at all, but the Pizza place called Cici’s, now they make a great pizza just called the Spinach and cheese pizza, and I could eat that just all day long! (ok some days) hahah! But also as our former President, Mr. Bill Clinton swore he did not like broccoli, I’m sure if he had it made in such a way that Cici’s puts Spinach in their pizza to make it good, there is a way to make broccoli that maybe Mr. Clinton might like to try! So he still might not like it, but it would be interesting to know if he would try it with just melted cheeses over it, with the broccoli cooked so soft it just melts in your mouth, rather than just on the plate, plain and without any side sauces at all!
Well, this blog really has a meaning, if you look at the big picture. I have brought to you, the beauty of nature, and it’s health it brings to our tables as we dine with family or alone!
Let’s not forget our precious SUNLIGHT that gives us vitamin D. Yes, and, while you shouldn’t spend too much time in the sun, it’s a FREE (on a non-cloudy day) to give you that free vitamin that our bodies need, it has no preservative, and you need not buy any vitamin over the counter without your doctor’s consent because if you eat the right foods, get that sunlight, you’ll get what your body needs to live a good long healthy life. Oh, one more thing, dark green vegetables are high in vitamin K. Vitamin K should not be given to heart patients in quantity, because it does thicken the blood, but if you have no worry of that, eat up your dark green veggies, and give yourself the healthy part of Vitamin K that helps your body clot your blood in the incident of a cut or wound.
No medical advice here shall be taken without first speaking with your doctor, because with a simple blood test, he/she can tell you what you need to incorporate into your diet to keep you healthy!
And please, feel free to share this information, with anyone, and even with your doctor to see if you need these things, and also, for that wonderful peace of mind, view the scenery around you with a positive light, and you’ll feel more at peace yourself with nature and what it has to offer! Oh, and let’s not forget the vitamins you get from onions, which are very healthy, as well as the dreaded, but YUMMIE garlic which is body cleansing! You might not get the kisses you like from too much garlic, but you can save that for a time when you’re going to sleep or be alone, that way, you keep those kisses, which also help our souls and mental health, providing us with the love an affection that we also need to survive!
Best wishes to all!
